Black Lives Matter

Bedford Labour

Bedford Borough Labour Group Councillors stand in solidarity with people protesting around the world for positive change, and echo their demands for an end to racism & inequality. The death of George Floyd at the hands of the police is an outrage.

Speaking on behalf of group members, Labour Group Leader Sue Oliver, said: ‘I am deeply saddened by the recent events in America and that the evils of racism still exist in supposedly civilised 21st century society.

One of the things I love about living in Bedford Borough is all the positive benefits our hugely diverse population brings to the area. I am proud of the way in which our communities live together peacefully and that they are, once again, leading by example in showing that we will not tolerate racism in any form.’
